Also do you have to have the element \”Record\” above \”Message\” in the envelope schema (I’m going to read the Biztalk doc now).

in reply to: Question about BiztalkGurus – SampleEnvelopes Project #14039

I’ve installed and run Stephen’s SampleEnvelopes project that show how to \”de-batch\” just using an envelope schema.

What I do not understand, is how the BatchId in the incoming message knows to get moved to the Batch in the other message. The element names are different. What’s the secret?

    Thanks,
    Neal

Here’s some more information. These are EDI 811 headers of two documents, one gives an error, the other does not.

Gives error \”The recipient of the document isn’t recognized\”:

No error, same sender as the other document:

Yes, your software configuration should work – BUT, if you don’t need the Sharepoint features, you can just run in Windows XP Pro. You can install most everthing under one account (I suggest creating BiztalkAdmin and maybe also an SSOAdmin). Unless they are grading you on how you implement security – then you need to get more fancy.

    Oh thanks Neal for responding!

Well I don’t really know if I need the sharepoint features but I was told that they used windows server 2003 so I thought I would stick with it. My problem now is that I have installed w.s.2003 and then sql server 2000 developer but it won’t configure the biztalk server. I get an error logged :

[color=darkred:232e479467]2006-07-18 19:36:12.80 spid3 Warning: override, autoexec procedures skipped.
2006-07-18 19:36:30.58 spid3 SQL Server is terminating due to ‘stop’ request from Service Control Manager.[/color:232e479467]

any idea how I fix this? I have already installed the analysis component and the sp3a for both.

p.s. what would I need SSOAdmin for?

[quote:9c9a0585ca]I was told that the aim for the project was to convert the supplier Flat-Files to an internal XML-Schema. Along with this I was hoping to also set up an orchestration to do an automatic ordering process where the caterers send an automatic query and the suppliers respond with their offer, I found this on one of the examples on the MS website. I thought I could simulate this with a couple of folders etc.?![/quote:9c9a0585ca]

So you will build a schema then start mapping (there is an example of a flat file schema on my videos). Yes, your example sounds similar (maybe the Bank/Loan Broker scenario?). Yes, you can do it all with flat file folders. Then later, if you want to be fancy you get build an InfoPath form.

in reply to: Moving a BTS 2004 MS SQL Sevrer DB to a new Server #13999

I don’t think so. I’ve talked with over with some other people in the past and they didn’t think you need to unconfigure / reconfigure.

But I’ve never really tested it.

I was talking about 2004 in my last post. I was just saying it will be much easier in 2006.

In addition to security, also set your \”Sharing Permissions\” to FullControl.

Don’t you have to run the unconfigure/configure utility – which is never fun in 2004?

in reply to: parsing an edi file before it reaches the ediadapter? #15039

I don’t know anything about EDI.. but you should be able to create a custom pipeline component and put it inside the Decode stage to change the message. I’ve done similar things to remove special characters.

Make sure you use the Pipeline Component Wizard on GotDotNet. Saves you a lot of time.

in reply to: High use of CPU in BizTalk Server 2006 #15058

Thank you for your answer, rseroter, but my company wants to use this machine for running several processes simultaneously. So, if I have a process running on this machine that uses the whole CPU, BizTalk server probably has got some problem to run the second process, hasn’t it?

In fact, I don’t know what to do because I don’t think my company provides me another server to use for BizTalk, thus I have to be concentrated in solving this problem.

What do you think I could test?

in reply to: High use of CPU in BizTalk Server 2006 #15056

I guess the \”problem\” is that you’ve got everything on a single machine. Pipelines and orchestrations are often very CPU hungry, and so the behavior you’re seeing is to be expected. You’re debatching a huge file (lots of CPU), spawning many orchestrations (lots of CPU) and have the database working overtime to keep up (lots of CPU). So, there’s not really a registry tweak where you can say \”use less processing power\”, and you might have to accept the machine running hot during the 10-20 minutes or so of processing if you can’t segment out your processes a bit onto separate machines.

in reply to: High use of CPU in BizTalk Server 2006 #15057

    Good afternoon:

I have a process in BizTalk Server 2006 that consists of two orchestrations and a complex transform map that does many queries to my application database. Also, one of these orchestration is a little complex since it uses some expression shapes calling some external libraries written in C# and makes some calls to an FTP to download some files.

In fact, this process receives an XML file with over 16.000 items and by means of an XML disassembler into a custom pipeline, it makes over 16.000 instances of messages that will be processed by the orchestration I speak above. One of these libraries use

As this orchestration is running, the CPU usage reaches the 100% (really the values are between the 90 – 100 percent) until it finishes. I don’t know how to solve this problem since I’ve had a look at the SQL Server agents jobs, code utilized by the external libraries, databases, etc…, but with no success.

About the architecture BizTalk Server 2006 runs on, I must say that we have in the same machine (a Intel Xeon 3,20 GHZ with 3 GB RAM) all the BizTak Server databases, my application database (it’s not very heavy).

Have somebody ever had a problem like this? And if somebody has, how was it solved?

    Thank you.
