Guys I have a really stupid newbie problem,
I have Visual Studio 2003 (Enterprise Architect) on my laptop and a server which has Biztalk 2004 (not sure what version).

All the books etc, talk about starting with a New Biztalk project and selecting mapping etc etc. I do not have any BizTalk templates for visual studio that mention Biztalk . What do I need to install on the laptop to start programming Biztalk. Do I have to install Visual Studio on the server ? or BizTalk server on the laptop ? If so in what order. Surely there is an SDK or similar I can install to connect to my server with some downloadable templates.

      Sorry to be dense here..

You should install Biztalk Server on the client (laptop). I usually do a full install, but there might be a way to just install the minimum tools.

Here’s a quick start install guide for BT2003:
