      Hi!

I Have got an orchestration which sends/receive many files to another machine with FTP. There are 4 different receive ports.

After a certain time (a couple of hours), one of the receive port (not each time the same) seems not be able to listen to files anymore.

      What is the problem?

      Thank you for responding.

No, the port is still enabled and the Biztalk Administration Console does not return any error or warning…

Exactly. Biztalk don’t pick up the files anymore. I’ll try with the UNC… I let you know about it in a few days (four days free until today, yeah!) 😉

Hum.. The FTP site isn’t on the same workgroup…. 🙁

          Anyway…I gonna try on Tuesday…

          See You!

            Re!

I haven’t try the UNC because I MUST work with the FTP…

So, I checked the Administration Console and the Event Viewer > System and I have always that kind of information message: \”The BizTalk Service BizTalk Group : BizTalkServerApplication service entered the stopped state.\” or \”The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service suspended operation\” around the time the received port stops responding.

Do you think there’s a link between my problem and those messages?

            Thk!

When I restart the service, everything seems to work well.

I have scheduled a task that restart the Biztalk service each hour… but the probleme is that the service may restart during treating files 🙁 and I get them in error.

Has anybody a way to find a solution restarting the biztalk service without breaking the orchestration? (for exemple, be able to catch when a port isn’t listening anymore).

              Thks!

No, there’s no error in the event log…

                🙁

If you check the Biztalk Admin Console, has the port actually been disabled? If so, check the application event log for reason.

I don’t really have any other ideas. So how do you know it is not working? You have files in the FTP directory, and Biztalk is not picking them up? Is the FTP site within your company or external? If internal, you could do a file receive using an UNC name such as \\\\FTPServer\\C$\\ReceiveDir.

Well, if the Biztalk service is stopped, nothing is going to happen. That has bit me a few times, I assume the BT Service is running but for some reason it is stopped and I go crazy chasing down rabbit holes.

If you restart the Biztalk Service, what happens? Does your FTP work for a while, then it shuts down, or does it shut down immediately with the same error as above?
