      Hi All!

There is help for Development and Production environments for Biztalk, but there is very little talk of the QA and User Acceptance testing environments.

For development the Isolated models looks good, either on a physical or virtual machine. We have all the tools on the developers machine, including VS, Sql Server, BizTalk Server, where he can develop, test and deploy projects, Now I have the following questions:

      1. If the developer can test on his own machine, do we need a separate QA environment for it, if yes what should be like?

      2.  I really haven't been able to understand how do we do User Acceptance testing of BizTalk projects, because as you know, integration projects are different from normal projects (web, desktop), so what should be the environment for that?

      3. In an isolated model if we use Sql Express on developer's machine, he wont be able to create BAM activities, as it requires Sql Enterprise edition, so do we need to install Sql Enterprise on each developer machine or is there another way?

      Thanks for your time,

      Regards,

      Sajid.

It all really depends on your client and your exact project.  But in the past, we have always had separate QA and UAT Environments.  We the goal is to have one mirror projects but I have never actually seen that happen.

It is had to do user testing at times but usually this is done running the end application or use some type of simulated test files.

As far as BAM, I’ve not done too much with it so I’m not sure they best approach.

      Hope this helps.
