Hi ther, I am facing a strange situation: we have a singleton orchestration(sequential convoy with listen/delay shape at the end). The correlation set is on ReceivePort,CustomerID. There is a “ordered delivery” physical send port linked to a orchestration logical port whose DeliveryNotification is set to Transmitted.

In BTS 2006 admin console,Group Hub page, when i click on Running Service INstances, it shows me a list of messaging service instances which are still active. One of these instances correspond to the above send port. The Creation time is showing 3 days back. The pending job column shows none. There is no message in the Error columns. I am a bit baffled by this!!! why is it lying active since 3 days? For some other instances which is lying Active for over a week now, the pending job column shows as “Terminate” any pointers please? Ric

I see this a lot when I expose schemas or orchestrations as web services (SOAP or WCF adapters) and an error occurs somewhere within messaging or an orchestration.  I don’t think these threads are really open for days on end, but rather their statuses in the Message Box just gets left as Active when the error occurs.  They won’t go away when I try to terminate them, or even when I run the CleanupMsgBox stored procedure.  Occasionally they all mysteriously get cleared out.  Strange…
