      Hi,

I realise that Biztalk and JCAPS are competitive integration products (i am not an expert or even familiar with either) – but have received a question from one of our Business Architects…

Can Biztalk and JCaps integrate or send and receive feeds/data between each?

Our customer has invested in both and are using both – however the JCAPS and BIZTalk teams are at logger heads and we really want to know if they can integrate and work together..or do we need a connector of some sort….

      Any help/guidance is much appreciated…

      Thx…

Both JCaps and BizTalk are integration platforms for connecting various disparate applications. Both come with a range of connector technologies to accomplish this. There is considerable overlap in these connector technologies, so there should be no technical reason preventing integration.
The best option would probably be an open standard interface like Web Services (SOAP or REST).

“we really want to know if they can integrate and work together..” – are you talking about the products or the teams?

lol 🙂 – thx greg – probably both, (if you knew of a connector to get the teams working together that would be brilliant !!) but more importantly can the products work together ? – I think you may have answered this as Yes – but if you have any more thoughts please let me know…Thx..

I would go use a SOAP/HTTP interface  – use the SOAP or preferably the WCF adapter on BizTalk and the equivalent on JCAPS.

The WCF adapter supports most of the WS-* protocols. Also using an open standard puts you on the high moral ground with both teams
