Hi! I’m using WCF-Oracle Adapter, I’m trying to configure to make a polling every X seconds but when I start the application it gives me the next error:

The adapter “Oracledb” raised an error message. Details “Microsoft.ServiceModel.Channels.Common.ConnectionException: Due to an Oracle Client limitation, the adapter failed to open a connection. This is because either (a) ambient transaction is present and the TNS alias is longer than 39 characters, or (b) ambient transaction is present and a non-TNS based URI was used. To resolve this, use a TNS alias to connect to Oracle and make sure it is not more than 39 characters.

How can i know the TNS name???

      Thanks

      Hi,

Did you check the receive location (where you are using the Oracle Adapter) for its connection binding? That’s where you would find the TNS alias…

I’ have configured the conecction binding with servicename and servername. Have I to configure the connection bing with the TNS alias? How can I know the TNS alias in that case?

          Hi,

The TNS alias is the same as the ODBC data source name set up on that server. Check the following blog on more information on how to troubleshoot LOB Oracle adapters (look for the entry titled “Using LOB Oracle adapters with BizTalk Server 2006 R2” and dated September 11):
