Came into work to find the BTSNTSvc.exe on two of my biztalk servers (DEV & QA) dieing whenever they receive any messages. The messages appear to make it into the Message Box  and they get routed to the correct orchestrations. The orchestrations lock as soon as they hit the initial receive shape. Looking at  Admin Console the appear to be Running Instances. They are shown to be Active and drilling down further shows that they are In Process. The Event Log displays – Faulting application btsntsvc.exe, version 3.5.1602.0, stamp 4410e6b9, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4062, stamp 46264680, debug? 0, fault address 0x0000bee7. And the Host Instance is stopped. All of my security/permissions appear to be intact as I have other BizTalk Servers that are running fine run under the same user account.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated – exhausted!

The only time I’ve had something remotely similar is when I’ve hosed the BTSNTVS configuration file.  Just a thought.  Hope it it helps.

Thanks for the tip. I wish it were that easy, but I checked the configs. No issues there.

I stand corrected. It was a config file. Not the BTSNTSvc.exe.config … but another that I have.

Thanks for putting me on the right track.

          Glad my post helped.

I thought that BTSNTSVC.exe.config might not be the exact problem.  I believe BizTalk crashes hard immediately after a host restart when the BTSNTSVC.exe.config contains invalid XML.  But I thought I might mention it in case…  [:)]
