On the road map page of BizTalk on Microsoft website:

there is no time frame for when will the next version of BizTalk would be released, infact there is only talk of Beyond BizTalk Server 2006. R2 is expected in the second half of 2007, and it'd provide adapter for WCF and functionallity for RFIDs and that sort of things.
The release after R2 will move BizTalk to a native Windows Workflow Foundation core engine, I learned from another source.
Do you people know when will be the next major version of Biztalk would be coming, and why there is no time commitment on part of Microsoft for it?

So far, I am surprisingly impressed with the EDI capabilities of R2. So I hope Vnext doesn't mess that up at all.

So you are in the R2 TAP program?
Lucky you! My company isn't. But we are in the ESB Guidance Early Access Program, which is great!As far as I know R2 should be released in Q3, the same goes for the ESB Guidance.

so the ESB Guidance will be generally available in Q3 this year?, if yes then thats gr8!!

For a little preview what's the ESB Guidance is all about, there is a webcast from December 8, 2006 about it (can't find it right now).
