hi folks,
i just joined and have a problem,here i go:
I already have sql server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 and i want to install Biztalk Server 2006 for a project. After installation complete i chose basic configuration in Biztalk, entered server name and username (which i have created with a role sysadmin) and password. After i tried many times to configure BizTalk but everytime i finish configuration there comes the errors and configuration fails (Enterprise SSO, Group, BizTalk Runtime, Business Rules Engine…). i googled and followed this simple link :

thanks.

The supported platform for BizTalk 2006 is Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005.
Some people have managed to get Biztalk 2006 R2 working on Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 but this requires a number modifications to the configuration – Ben Cline MVP has blogged about this: http://msinnovations.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!62E68922E47BC425!226.entryYou cannot use Visual Studio 2008 to develop applications for Biztalk 2006/R2. You can only use Visual Studio 2005.
Biztalk 2009 (currently in beta) will support Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and you need to use Visual Studio 2008.

I tend to use Windows Server 2003 on my development Biztalk machines. This removes any differences that may occur between development and test/staging/production environments.
This is just a personal choice, Windows XP works just as well.
