BAM and SQL Server Versions

Can anyone confirm?  

1.  If I’m correct, with the original BT2006, if you wanted to do OLAP/Aggregation, you had to run SQL 2000 analysis services.  In recent testing for my videos, if you use SQL 2000 analysis services, that also means your BAM must be on SQL 2000, correct?  If you are just doing BAM RTA or no aggregations, you can use SQL 2005, again correct?

2.  Now, when 2006/R2 came out, did any of this change?  Did they are supprot for 2005 Analysis Services?
