I try to deploy BTS project from VS2005 running on WinXP-SP2 to BTS2006 running on Windows Server 2003.

I get this error in the studio:

Where should I start looking first for possible problems?

Any help would be much appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Eric

Do you have administrative rights on that box?  Looks like it's failing when installing the assembly into the GAC, which requires elevated privileges.

      • #17671

Yes, I'm using a domain account that belongs to Administrators group.

        • #17676

          Thts is fine….

Just try adding tht user to all Biztalk Groups.

          It shd work fine.

I beleive the “Indexing Service” causes this problem. Any time this error occurs if I stop the “Indexing Service” and then try to deploy, the problem goes away!

The “Indexing Service” also causes problems with ASP.NET applications. I find it ridiculous that this “Indexing Service” written by Microsoft, causes problems with their development tools…sad…

        Hi guys,

it is true i was also facing same problem.I stopped the indexing services and then deployed the project. It works.

        • #22918

I have Indexing service disabled ,

On Biztalk 2009 and getting the same  error on attempt to deploy

Although the location it is trying to gac it from looks invalid

          C:\Documents and Settings\[BuildService]\Local Settings\Temp\BT\PID1088\BizTalkAssembly\[013e8e6d9867593fc7a3e0bed58203f1]\My.Dll

I don’t see BT and Pid folders for Biztalk 2009 only these:

          C:\Documents and Settings\[BuildService]\Local Settings\Temp\BTS2009_SatStore\[GUID]

Are you running the MSI to deploy or using Visual Studio?

If MSI then check the path of the dll file when you exported the MSI from the development Server. That path should exist on the Production Server where you try to import the MSI.

You’ve probably resolved your problem in BizTalk 2009 by now, but I have had to tackle it myself and discovered a fix that might work for others.

Inspecting the AssemblyInfo.cs of a project that deploys successfully and one that does not, I found that the highlighted piece of the quoted portion of a standard AssemblyInfo.cs existed in a working project, but not in a project that would not deploy.  Adding the highlighted text to the AssemblyInfo.cs file of a project that would not deploy resolved the issue.

            [assembly:
            AssemblyVersion(“1.0.0.0”)]

            [assembly:
            AssemblyFileVersion(“1.0.0.0”)]

            [assembly: AssemblyInformationalVersion(“1.0.0.0”)]

            [assembly:
            Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.BizTalkAssembly(typeof(Microsoft.BizTalk.XLANGs.BTXEngine.BTXService))]

              Thanks, you’re a genius…AssemblyInfo.cs worked for me.

Seems to be if you’ve converted your code from a previous version (in my case BizTalk 2004).

              Thanks.

              Simon.

Also you have to run/start VS2008 as admin if you develop right on W2K8 R2. This worked for me.

                This worked for me too

great! it worked for me after modifying the Biztalk 2009 AssemblyInfo.cs file as you said.thanks.

                [assembly: AssemblyInformationalVersion(“1.1.0.0”)]
