Greetings!
I need to drop a file into a Q from BizTalk
We have a box set up for MQSeries (MQS). The process currently works on a webMethods platform but we are migrating it to BizTalk 2009.
I must connect with a User Name and Password.
I built the send port – the first uh-oh was no place for the credentials.
After searching the InterWeb it looks like I need to install more components in COM+? I am a bit confused by the documentation. And – would the needed credentials go into the COM+ identity tab?
I heard that there is a new adapter that does not require COM+?
I guess a high level explanantion of the steps to get a Newbie started would help.
Thanx much-much

Hi,
If I remember correctly – MQ Series Adapter needs configuration in COM +, last version I worked with it was 3 years ago, and it did need configuration as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa561858(v=BTS.20).aspx
Also need to cofigure MSDTC.

Hello!
Thanks for the reply. I was looking at that document also and it gave me half of what I needed. I have made some ground and gotten the admin permissions to work on the MQS server. My next step is to figure out how to install the BizTalk MQS COM+ Agent on the server. I don’t want to install all of BizTalk.
At this link there seems to be an alternative. Does it make sense to anyone?

Well- Ihave made some progress. Earlier today we installed the agent for COM+ talking to MQS on the MQS server. That went OK. THe wizard then has you build a COM+ application. It results in something where all the properties are grayed out and you can not change anything.
Now – here is where it gets weird. The MSDN then tells me to move 3 of the 5 methods from this application to a new COM+ application. However – since the original application is immutable you don’t get the move option! And – it weirds me out that one would move 3 out of 5 methods when they are all part of the same DLL!
Has anyone worked with this?

Hi Everyone.
I am still having problems with this. At this point we have ironed out the network stuff and BizTalk can inseed talk to a COM+ object on the MQS server. The Q is built and working – webMethods posts to it now. But BizTalk acts like it does not know it is even supposed to send it. I have built the COM+ adapter and such, tested server connectivity, made the send ports, and I don’t even get an error or suspended orchestration. No events, but I know the orchestration is running well as there are some other deliveries to SMPT and they are just dandy.
Any help is welcome.
Thanx,
