It was with great pleasure that I presented for the first time on January 29, 2020, a session at the Azure Lowlands event, this time about How to create robust monitor solutions with PowerShell, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
First of all, I want to congratulate the organizers on a very well organized event!
About the session
Session name: How to create robust monitor solutions with PowerShell, Azure Functions and Logic Apps
Abstract: Monitoring your systems or platforms is a crucial aspect of any organization. Based on my experience, all your clients will tell you that all the platforms or applications are being monitoring by external partners or internally. Nevertheless, when disasters occur or are in the process of happening, guess what? Your team will be the last to know. This session will address and present how you can easily and quickly create a robust monitoring solution on your platforms using PowerShell, Functions app, and Logic Apps or Power Automate Flows.

Logic Apps: Development experiences at Azure User Group Portugal with Pedro Almeida (video not yet available)
How to create robust monitor solutions with PowerShell, Azure Functions and Logic Apps at Azure Lowlands (video not yet available)
and Logic Apps: Anywhere, Everywhere at Microsoft Integrate Conference DACH
Today I’m happy to share with you the slides and the video of this last session are now available online for those who want to see them.
About the session
Session name: Logic App: Anywhere, Everywhere.
Abstract: A walk-thru session on how and where we can or should use Logic Apps and start building fantastic business processes. We will be addressing topics like: what tools should you use: Azure Portal, Visual Studio, or Visual Studio Code. What kind of solutions you can create, cloud integration, hybrid integration, or on-premises integration. Along with some best practices and what are the advantages and drawbacks of each approach.
For any reason, you could not be present at this online event, or if you want to review it again, you can now do it here:
It was a pleasure to deliver a presentation on this event, and most important, by doing that, I was able to raise and give away 1000€ to a non-profit organization.
It is a strange year, and for the first time since 2013, we didn’t have face to face INTEGRATE event. Instead, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year we had to go with an online event. Despite all of that, it was a great event. Nevertheless, I miss that social interaction we use to have and see friends that I usually only see once a year in this event.
The good part for me in being an online event was that I was able to attend (or view) the sessions at my on rhythmic. Having three small kids at home can be a challenge, and it was a little difficult to attend in real-time to all the sessions, so once they went to bed, I could see the sessions that I miss out during the day without having to wait two months for them to be available online.

I still plan to visit New Zealand in the future, and maybe it will be a face-to-face event.

My other talks at Integration Monday – Integration User Group
I am a regular speaker at the Integration User Group community, however this time on May 4th, celebration mode, I invited two of my DevScope Power Platform Jedi masters to join me in this session.
We will also present a real case scenario wherein less than two days, where we implemented a Power App for Centro Hospitalar Gaia Espinho to help fight the battle against the current COVID-19 pandemic. Starting with the diagnosis phase, where health professionals can track patients in the Covid-19 tent. In addition to the patient record, clinical values, symptoms, and other relevant information are sent to the hospital so that their admission is carried out with the greatest possible security for everyone.
All these COVID-19 patient data, with complete anonymity (GDPR compliant), are later analyzed in a Microsoft Power BI report to give healthcare professionals a clear view of the problem at hand.
About the session

Due to the world COVID-19 pandemic, last Saturday, April 25, was held the first Virtual Global Azure Bootcamp, an event that normally happens in several cities across the world in simultaneous. The restrictions we are facing dictated that this year the format would have to be different. If, on one hand, the social aspect of the event was missing, on the other hand, it opened the door to a wider universe of people to be able to attend. Nevertheless, for me, this event was an amazing success and it was a great pleasure to be once again presenting on this event that I have a special affection for.
I think I’ve been present since the first edition of this event.
Today I’m happy to share with you the slides and the video of the session.

Last time I spoke both at Integrate UK and Integrate USA were in 2017, that in fact was the last time this event also happened in the USA, in which my session was on this same topic, part one of this topic: BizTalk Server Fast & Loud. And in reality, it was merely a happy coincidence, to do these two events again two years later and have decided to do the second part of this previous lecture, because by the time I chose the topic I didn’t know that I would return to the US… but it was a happy coincidence that fit very well!
And the reason I decide this second part was because I had received so much amazing feedback about my BizTalk Server Fast & Loud session two years ago. I can confess that in the beginning, I was a bit nervous to do this sequel, mainly because I want to keep the same good level of the previous one, avoiding what usually happens with the sequels in the movies, as a new part is released the quality goes down… but in the end I think I did a good job, that was confirmed by the awesome feedback provided by the attendees of both events. Personally, I love this session more than the previous one. But if you were not there two years ago, do not watch this talk without seeing the first part of this session here: BizTalk Server Fast & Loud.
About my session
Session Name: BizTalk Server Fast & Loud Part II: Optimizing BizTalk
Session Overview: Following the success of one of Sandro’s previous presentations at Integrate, Sandro decided to go deep on this hardcore BizTalk topic: Optimizing your BizTalk Server. This session will allow you to gain a better view on how to optimize BizTalk Server for better performance in all phases: your team’s proactivity, your code, your environment, and your goals. Once again, this is a very extensive and complex topic and there is no magic formula you can apply to solve all your problems. This presentation will aim to guide you through some of the most important steps, operations, tasks and best practices that you need to do or be aware of, in order to boost the performance of your BizTalk Server projects and that you can adjust or follow according to your needs.
Like previous years, the event in London is recorded, so if for any reason you could not be present at these events, or if you want to review it again, you can now do it here:
Since the first time we organize the event in London (back in 2013), each year I have had the pleasure of participating in the biggest Microsoft Integration event as a speaker but this year I was able to be present in the two biggest events: London and in Redmond (Microsoft Campus)
This year my session was about: BizTalk Server Fast & Loud
In this session, I talked about a hardcore BizTalk topic that addressed the following question: How can you optimize/tuning your BizTalk environment for performance?
Optimizing your BizTalk Server installation is not an easy thing to do because it affects several layers and skills. This topic is very well documented by the product group but the problem is that it is very extensive and complex. This presentation will aim to guide you through the most important steps, operations or task you need to do or be aware in order to boost the performance of your BizTalk Server environment and that you can adjust or follow according to your needs because, depending on your infrastructure, this can be a straightforward operation or a very extensive and hard operation. But I will try to keep it as simple as possible so everyone can understand and follow.
