It sounds as though the map is not working if you are certain that the SQL Adapter response is returning a populated message.
Can I suggest that you test the map further under Visual Studio using the response message from the SQL Adapter to ensure that this is not the source of the problem.
One alternative may be that you have nothing subscribed to the result of the map (which will be published to the MsgBox by the Solicit-Response Send Port. Are you receiving any error messages in the Event Log that suggests you have a subscription or routing failure?
