      Hi folks,

I’ve a problem I did not understand at all.

I want to add a SQL adapter (project – add – add generated items – add adapter metadata –

and then … no dialog for choosing what adapter I want to add. I get an error message, that there is no connection to the database. But what database? I didn’t even selected one?

      error message:
An error occured during wizzard execution.
BizTalkServer cannot access SQL Server. …

I’ve done this before some times, and it works fine. But I think, we switched from SQL Server 2005 to 2008 some Month ago. Maybe this could be an hind. The SQL server is running on a seperate server, not local on my development system.

Would be fine if someone knows what to do or any work around.

      thx in advance

After migrated from SQL 2005 to 2008, you have to reconfigure the BizTalk server DB to 2008. You can check these BTS sql configuration with biztalk configuration exe file (in the root folder).

Sorry, but what exactly do u mean?

The configuration looks fine. Do I have to unconfigure everything and reconfigure it again?

      Hi Roland,

Have you tried conecting to that SQL Server 2008 database from BizTalk using the WCF SQL Adapter? That would be a good use for forward compatibility when migrating to BizTalk Server 2009 (as SQL Adapter is deprecated in that version).

         Daniel.
