I know probably it’s a bit wiered question, if I an orchestration exposed as a WCF service and when it come to hosting we need to host and expose it on the BTS box itself, thou the way our application deployed is to have all the services hosted on a single box but just bcoz I have exposed the Orchestration as a WCF service I need to have in hosted on a BTS box which defies the purpose of it bieng a Web Service ….

Anybody know any work around here ….

      Hi,

Have a look at this blog (http://mstecharchitect.blogspot.com/2008/12/wcf-biztalk-exposing-wcf-service-out-of.html), as it talks about how to publish an orchestration as a WCF service (in BizTalk 2009, but I think it’s still relevant to BizTalk 2006 version). I would think that you would have your services published on a separate box from the one that hosts the BizTalk application. In the blog, see the part where the wizard prompts you for the location where the WCF service will be created.

         I hope this helps.

         Daniel.

So does it mean, that the Orch that is exposed as Web Service can be exposed on a box which does not have Biztalk Server installed on it … ???

No, both SOAP and WCF adapters require the web service to be hosted on a Biztalk Server.

You can host the services in another box but then you need to install ISA (Internet Security and Acceleration ) server which would make it ultimately point it to BT box.
