      Hi,

I am experiencing a rather interesting error every time I restart my BizTalk host which as a WCF-Custom Oracle receive location configured and enabled. When the host instnace is restarted the following error is logged to the event log:

      – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

      Event Type:    Error
      Event Source:    BizTalk Server 2006

      Date:        27/10/2009
      Time:        4:01:17 PM

      Description:
The Messaging Engine failed to initialize. Details:”Unable to cast COM object of type ‘System.__ComObject’ to interface type ‘Microsoft.BizTalk.CachingService.IBcsArtifactFactory’. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID ‘{3782F312-1594-438D-8A90-F41A9D223C0C}’ failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).”.

After this error is received the host instance is stopped. The only way to get this configuration working is to disable the WCF-Custom Oracle receive location before restarting the host instance. Only after the host instance has started can the receive location be enabled. After this everything works as normal.

My question is why is this error occurring and how can I resolve it. It is quite annoying that I need to manually disable/enable only the Oracle WCF-receive locations when restarting the Host Instance.

Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

      Hi Jason,

I am not sure if this error  has something to do with the way the adapter was set up or installed, but I found this link to a set up guide of the Oracle LOB adapter 3.0 online:

I hope this helps, if not, it was worth a try (from my perspective). 🙂

         Daniel.
