        Hi,

        Im a domain user. I have Installed BizTalk in my machine and the Sql Server in another. I’m a sql server “sysadmin” in the other machine. 

        Im in the Administrator, BizTalk Server Administrator and SSO Administrator groups in my machine Administrator group in the other machine.

        network COM+ access and network DTS access are enabled in both machines.

        But when i try to configure BizTalk and give the other machines sql server name for the SQL Server, i get an error. Can anyone please help. Do i have to configure remote login to the other machines SQL Server. I have a SQL Server in my machine also.

          Are the BizTalk Server and SQL Server in the same domain.
          Are you using a domain account on the Biztalk server when configuraing Biztalk.
          Does this account have sysadmin rights on the SQL Server.

          Can you give us some more information on what you are trying to configure and what is the error?

              Yes I have a domain user account. Yes, I have sysadmin rights on the SQL Server.

              I attempted to configure the BizTalk Server giving the SQL Server name of the other machine. Only the Enterprise SSO, MSMQT and BRE features succeeds. All the other features fails.  Tried to reconfiger the Group feature (which trys to create Managment, Messagebox and Data DB’s in the other Machine) fails.

              In the log i get a set of errors loged. It is as below.

              The BizTalk box has the “BizTalk Server Administrators” Group. The SQL Box doesn’t have the “BizTalk Server Administrators” Group. BizTalk is not installed in the SQL box. I tried manually creating a “BizTalk Server Administrators” group in the SQL Box, yet no use.

                  The Biztalk Administrators Group and all the other Biztalk accounts and groups, need to be in the domain when using a two server install.

                      did you enable Remote connection from Surface area configuration on SQL Server?
