I am piloting a small BTS 2009 app, and have revamped my schemas and project breakdown several times as I learn.  I used to have my internal schemas in a project XML_Structures but later removed that and put my internal schema definition for a “Common Information Model” (CIM) into a new project CSU_CIM (my company is CSU).  I deleted XML_Structures and have removed every resource or reference I can find, but something’s still sticking around.

When I drop a hand-constructed XML file that emulates an Oracle DB query I will eventually use, I get this event:

The Messaging Engine failed while executing the inbound map for the message coming from source URL:”C:\Data\BizTalk Projects\EDDE\data\input\*.xml” with the Message Type “http://Microsoft.LobServices.OracleDB/2007/03/OCTDBM/Table/CU_CRITERIA#ArrayOfCU_CRITERIARECORDSELECT”. Details:”Finding the document specification by message type “http://XML_Structures.cu_cim#cu_id” failed. Verify the schema deployed properly. “

The text “XML_Structures” does not appear in any of my xsd files, the data xml file, the xslt file I’m using for mapping…

I have searched for the text “XML_Structures” in my solution tree using Windows Explorer and find nothing.  Removed my application from BTS Administrator and deleted everything in the GAC that I could find, and redeployed.  Still get this message.

      Any clues?  Thanks!

Well I found the solution to this, which was to restart the BizTalk Service.  So it was retaining something in cache.  Thought we’d moved beyond having to restart servers, and I’d hate to see this happen on a production box where it would take us days to schedule a restart.

Still, if anybody has any thoughts on a way to clean out this kind of caching without a restart I’d love to hear it.

      Thanks,
      Randy Lindsey
