      Hello!

First of all I’m new to BizTalk

I reading a book called foundation of BizTalk Server 2006 and
I study a basic Course in BizTalk at university in Karlstad Sweden.

I did a practice today by using Biztalk to move a file from one folder to another folder.

The file was just a flat text file.

      Now too my question:
In this excercise I did’t have to create any xml schema.

      My first question is:
So my question is when do I have to create a XML schema ?

      BizTalk consist of many product.

I just wonder which of these product is it that a developer and integrator of Biztalk will use at most

I mean that some is used very rarely and some almost always.

      Hi Tony!

Happy to see the Swedish BTS-scene expanding further! I hope you’ve heard about BizTalk User Group Sweden – BUGS – http://biztalkusergroup.se/default.aspx

First Question: In short, whenever you’d like to manipulate/read/validate the data of your message you will need to create schemas. So just passing the message from A to B there’s no need for schemas. If you as well would like to reformat the message (map message) into another message-type, schemas are needed.

Second Question: Mostly, a BizTalk developer (at least this is true for me) uses Visual Studio (schema/map creation tools) and the BizTalk Server Administration Tool (setting up ports/subscriptions etc).
