I have a BizTalk 2006 application that receives EDI files and processes them using the EDI adapter. We’re deploying an R2 server and I need to import my application, but I’m having trouble understanding EDI on R2.

      1. If I need to process EDI files in R2 do I simply use a FILE adapter and set the schema to the EDI standard we are using?
      2. Do I need to worry about parties still?
      3. How can I create a 997 Acknowledgement file, would this again use a FILE adapter?

I’m able to process EDI without a problem now. EDI processing is setup the same as FILE processing, which is much better than R1. I followed the instructions here and #9 – #12 here to generate a 997 and it doesn’t seem to be working.

There are no errors in the event log, the location where the 997 file is being written is local (no permissions issues), it’s just not being created. Is there something missing from that MSDN article? Is there a flag that needs to be set somewhere to indicate that 997 should be generated?
