I have to use odbc adapters for interacting with differenct databases with BizTalk server 2006. I have installed BizTalk server 2006 on Windows Server 2003. But I do not find any adapter for interacting with different databases other than SQL. Is Biztalk being shipped with different odbc adapters for various databases? If so why were they not installed alongwith other adapters such as FILE, SQL etc.

Then I Installed a community ODBC adapter from TopXML and configured biztalk server 2006 successfully. Now When I create a BizTalk project in Visual Studio 2.0 and select add generated items, I do not find "add adapter". However I find "add adapter metadata". On clicking this option, I have only SQL adapter shown in the list whereas it should also show my custom odbc adapter. What step am I missing or doing wrong. Please clarify.

      Thanks,

      Y Gupta

Hmmm.  You might want to go ahead and install the Enterprise Adapters which contain all the LOB systems (Peoplesoft, Siebel, etc).  You want to do this because the Oracle adapter is pretty much just a simple ODBC adapter.  You could use the "Oracle" adapter for regular ODBC.  That may help you when you try and generate a schema against the adapter metadata …
