During my previous presentation, my SharePoint 2013 VM became much too slow: the culprit was one of the Search component that ate my CPU : To reduce it cpu footprint, the solution was to set its Performancelevel to Reduced In Powershell, just type Set-SPEnterpriseSearchService -PerformanceLevel Reduced and restart the SharePoint Search service.
