Oslo is Microsoft's new Modeling Platform.  It is made up of a tool, a language, and a repository.  This video introduces you to the M.  M is the new language for models inside Oslo.  To code in M, you use a new tool called Intellipad.

This video walks through creating a simple model using M.  This model is then used to insert data into SQL using the model.  M also has the ability to define Domain-Specific Languages (DSL).  This allows for total customization to the data import process and a custom syntax for data entry.  A simple DSL will be reviewed.

This video runs 15:43 and is available for live play via Flash or for download via Windows Media Player.  If you would like to download this video, use the "Download Version".

Thanks for the demo!  But what are you modeling?  I'm missing the big picture here. It looks like a database model, not a BPM model (more like an SQL tool than a BizTalk tool).   What are the benefits of "M"?

Thanks,

Neal Walters

In this demo, I’m just reviewing M at a high level.

I’m creating a DSL (Domain Specific Language) that could be giving to someone else to enforce domain specific conditions.

For Example, I could write a DSL to take the phrase “Create BizTalk File Send Port to X” and have the be converted into the database and eventually create the Send Port.

Hope this helps.
