  • Kelly Services, Inc., a leading provider in workforce solutions, has an excellent full time opportunity for an experienced Manager – Middleware Technologies. This opportunity will be located at Kelly Services Headquarters in Troy, Michigan.

    The candidate will be responsible for leading the Systems Engineers and Quality Assurance Analysts who will be responsible for installing, configuring, administering supporting and testing Microsoft Biztalk Infrastructure, Web servers and Application servers based on open systems. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and enforcing middleware environment standards. Additional responsibilities include the use of monitoring tools, providing expertise to cross functional groups and participating in project teams. The team management responsibilities include providing daily work direction, coaching, mentoring, and training of staff.

    Competencies / Required Skills:

    Technical:

    • Subject Matter Expertise in the .NET architecture framework
    • Experience installing, configuring and performance tuning middleware software is highly desirable
    • Proficiency in managing enterprise Biztalk server is preferred
    • Good knowledge and understanding of communication protocols such as EDI, HTTP, FTP, SOAP, etc
    • Good understanding in languages such as SQL, XML, HTML, C# and relational database concepts
    • Good understanding of high availability and clustering concepts
    • Excellent analytical, trouble shooting, fault isolation and root cause analysis skills
    • Proficient use of testing tools and Application Performance Management concepts
    • Complete and proficient understanding of SDLC

    Project Management:

    • The Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of deliverables and success of the project working either as the PM or closely with the assigned PM. 
    • The Manager must ensure the project is prioritized, staffed appropriately; staff members are motivated, conflicts are resolved, and be able to communicate the project vision and principles. 
    • The Manager is also responsible for ensuring the overall quality of the project working closely with the PM.

    Professional:

    • Champions change and innovation: Openly approaches problems; generates innovative ideas and solutions; helps staff to understand the reason for change and adapt to it.
    • Drives execution: Effectively manages time and priorities by focusing on highest priority tasks and working efficiently; delegates' responsibilities and appropriate authority to others; monitors the progress of others and holds people accountable; prepares for and facilitates productive meetings; tackles problems directly and works to resolve them without delay; models a strong work ethic.
    • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills: Excellent written and verbal skills required to perform daily job responsibilities.  Ability to handle sensitive and difficult conversations with vendors and customers
    • Process focused with ability to effectively follow the Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes
    • Manages staff to improve their technical skill sets and become proficient with newer technologies and tools.


    Desirable Qualifications and Experience:


    • At least 8 years of IT experience of which 5 years with middleware software and components
    • Experience in directing/leading the activities of others; previous Manager experience preferred
    • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience.  Major in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration preferred
