The Microsoft Team has just announced the release of the very first Cumulative Update For BizTalk 2013. But an even more surprising news is that it is available using Microsoft Update!... This is the very first time a BizTalk Update can be obtained with Microsoft Update, as before it had to be done by downloading it manually through the hotfix download. An amazing improvement if you ask me, making it a whole lot easier for administrators. The update will still be available through the hotfix download...

Azure: Getting started with Azure Backup Services
Posted
by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
Recently Microsoft added Backup Services (Preview) in which you can invoke the cloud as part of your backup strategy, whether it be offsite secondaries etc. You may have heard of Microsoft’s StorSimple which involved dropping a 2RU or 4RU Hardware device into a customer’s rack in a Datacenter somewhere which is no easy feat. The reason why I’m liking the Azure Backup Services approach is that it’s a software based solution. Storage costs for Backups are cheaper and this is a feasible approach for...

Could not find server 'servername' in sys.servers after running the BizTalk Backup job on Windows Azure
Posted

by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
After I provisioned a Windows Azure Virtual Machine, which was based on the BizTalk Server 2013 Beta image from the Gallery, I configured the BizTalk Backup job. Normally it is enough to just apply the file locations of the Full backup and the Log backup and to Enable the job, but when I did this, I noticed in the History of the job, that the job failed. The error I got was 'Could not find server BTS2013B in sys.servers', where BTS2013B is the name that I assigned to the Virtual Machine....

Block vs. Inline Elements: The very basics
Posted

by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
A lot of confusion surrounds the concept of block and inline elements, and its not unusual for this confusion to persist indefinitely. I’m hopefully going to clarify this tiny but influential difference for everyone in just a few images and with one CSS property. The first image is a screen capture of the HTML and CSS [...] Blog Post by: Karissa Wingate

Creating successful user experiences is an art. A lot of art involves taking advantage of the way that the brain processes information. The most successful designs (user experiences or otherwise) are those that give off feeling of “how else would you do it?”. The design simply seems to make sense. Designing an interface is a [...] Blog Post by: Karissa Wingate

Error handling: One of the reasons that HTML standards are so important is because HTML is a language that has historically been written with a lot of errors and now has many different versions. Brief (but required) history lesson: Back when IE had 90% or so of the market share, browsers were essentially an enigma. It was hard to know exactly how things worked. The language of the modern web is HTML5. It’s a great thing. You probably don’t understand why yet, but you will. Our most basic page: That’s really boring, you might say. Well yes, it is.
