    Avoid mixing production, test, QA!

I’ve seen this happen a couple of times. Where security is not enforced good enough. So I wanted to dedicate a blog post to talk more about this. In most enterprise companies security is important and get a lot of focus. However BizTalk is often left to itself since the structure around it may be [...] Blog Post by: Tord Glad Nordahl

Workflow foundation annotations and upgrade problems

One of the cool new features of the Workflow Foundation in the .Net framework 4.5 is the annotations. This gives you the option to at nice comments to your workflows. In the designer you just have to right click your activity and choose the annotations menu item to add, edit or delete annotations. If you upgrade your Visual Studio project from Visual Studio 2010 you can't see these menu options. The problem is that the upgrade wizard doesn't change the target framework, so if you go into...

    MSDTC Adventures: 'System.EnterpriseServices.TransactionProxyException'

I was configuring a new Development environment that consisted of a BizTalk Application Server and a Remote SQL Server. The BizTalk Installation went smoothly but the Configuration did not. I tend to configure SSO service on its own as it can be problematic. There is no point in configuring the remaining databases until a person knows that the SSO database is created successfully. Otherwise, there will be a lot of wasted key strokes. In this particular case I was able to configure the SSODB but as...

WCF-SAP User account not in validity date

Recently, I have been working with a new organization and have been been building some interfaces that communicate with SAP. Over the Christmas break I continued to work on some of these interfaces. On December 31 my interfaces were working just fine. But, on January 1st, I made a few changes and then ran my BizUnit regression tests just to make sure everything was ok. To my surprise, my tests were failing and the issue was related to the following error. It just seemed like too much of a co-incidence...

Parser Optimization in a Flat File Schema

So all People out there, I’m up to Windows 8 and I love it. BizTalk Server 2013: New Adapters Series: WCF-BasicHttpRelay

In next couple of weeks I like to do a series of blog posts on the new adapters provided in the upcoming release of BizTalk Server 2013. In this post I like to demonstrate the WCF-BasicHttpRelay adapter . The WCF-BasicHttpRelay adapter can be used with BizTalk to send and receive messages from the Service Bus relay endpoints using the BasicHttpRelayBinding . This is a binding that BizTalk can use to configure endpoints which can communicate with ASMX-based Web services and other services that conform...

Simple autogenerated facade WCF service with T4

If you don't want to use a lot of money on service virtualization tools you can create a simple autogenerated WCF facade service that does a little bit of the things the big service virtualization tools does. This gives you the option to hide service between one common service. The services behind this service could be a service from your backend system, a service from your CRM system and it might even be some external services. You could do it manually, but then you would have to update it each...

ALM MVP for a 7th year

January 1st is one of 4 dates during the year when Microsoft announce their new and renewed Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs). As someone that was awarded on January 1st, it means the year starts off with a regular scan of my emails to see if my community contributions have been sufficient to be re-awarded. Sitting proudly in my Inbox was the much anticipated email confirming that I have once again reached the bar to be an ALM MVP for another year. In addition to my community contributions, I’ve...
