Updating Visual Studio Extensions
Posted
by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
I spent some time this week researching what would be needed to update some of my Visual Studio 2010 extensions to support Visual Studio 2012. I’ve now managed to do so, and would like to share what I found in case anyone else finds it useful. Warning: This post was written and tested with the [...] Blog Post by: Tomas Restrepo

BizTalk Server MVP status renewed for 2012 - 6th year in a row

Syndicated BizTalk Author
First of all I'm very humbled, delighted, pleased (much more?) to receive the news yesterday that my MVP (Most Valuable Professional) status is been renewed for 2012. If you are following lot of blogs, then you might have seen this message in few places now. Basically Microsoft got 4 renewal cycles (January, April, July, October) in a year to bring new MVP's on board and renew the existing ones who contribute to the selected community continuously. Over the years I have heard people...

Is PaaS PLUS IaaS the Killer Cloud Combination?
Posted
by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
George Reese of enstratus just wrote a great blog post about VMware’s cloud strategy, but I zeroed in on one of his major sub-points. He mentions that the entrance into the IaaS space by Google and Microsoft signifies that PaaS isn’t getting the mass adoption that was expected. In short, Microsoft and Google moving into [...] Blog Post by: Richard Seroter

Windows Azure PowerShell: The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request

A few days ago, I was using Windows Azure PowserShell cmdlets to create a new virtual machine, and I got an error that didn’t provide the exception details. I requested some help internally and could eventually have additional information on my exception. Here what I did.

AZR317 Service Bus with Clemens Vasters

Syndicated BizTalk Author
Full title: “ Achieving Enterprise Integration Patterns with Windows Azure Service Bus ”. Or another way to put it: ”What will happen to BizTalk when it gets cloudy”. Well I would say, after the session, that BizTalk had very little o do with this. If you are a BizTalk developer you probably saw how things you do every day can be done in the Service Bus. Basically Clemens showed some of the most common patterns and how they are implemented in the Service bus. For instance splitter/aggregator, content...

This presentation is not present at Channel9 at the moment. That is a shame because this was, in my opinion, the best presentation of the whole conference. The session was presented by Alex Jauch , currently at NetApp but he used to work for Microsoft. Actually he was behind the precursor that became the MCA. I had never even heard about this guy before and I would say that it is a shame. I have now though. The heading for the session seem ominous and deterministic but given my personal experience...

BizTalk and empty files

Syndicated BizTalk Author
There are a lot of things I do not know about BizTalk. The list is getting shorter but here is something I found. I was trying to verify a flow within a known environment. Everything else seemed to work apart from this one flow. A technician submitted files to a directory and the file was picked up. However it did not show up on any tracking; neither the basic BizTalk tracking nor our BAM-implementation noticed the file. The files was picked up and I verified that the file was picked up by BizTalk...

Recently when deploying a site to IIS I got the following error. I tried several troubleshooting options such as checking the IIS mapping configuration to see if the .aspx pages were an accepted page extension, folder permissions on the deployment folder, and I knew for a fact that .net was correctly installed on my server. After some [...] Blog Post by: Karl Schwirz

IaaS vs. PaaS: Deploying a Web Application
Posted

by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
My buddy and partner-in-crime, Adron Hall, built a web application that we at Tier 3 plan on using for our internal/external product catalog. He initially deployed the app (ASP.NET + SQL Server DB) to our IaaS fabric, but wanted to compare THAT experience with the steps to deploy to our PaaS (Web Fabric) instead. So, [...] Blog Post by: Richard Seroter

Setting custom SOAP headers in the WCF adapter

While browsing for the answer to the question: “How do I add SOAP-headers to a message sent using the WCF-custom or WCF-basicHttp adapter?” I never really found a good, short answer. So I thought I’d give it a go. Setting SOAP headers I assume you know what SOAP-headers are and why you might use them. If not, then back to basics . In my case the client needed BizTalk to send request with the WS-addressing SOAP header called “To”. I needed to know the easiest way to do this and preferably using configuration...
