Posted

by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
This week I attended TechEd Europe in Amsterdam . Accompanying me was Mikael Sand , a BizTalk professional from Sweden . I have met Mikael a couple times before and we always have some good discussions over BizTalk, beer, politics and sports. This time I have asked him some questions for the BizTalk Community Series and here is his story. Mikael Sand , a 30-something integration architect specializing on the Microsoft stack. He lives just south of Stockholm with his wife Catarina and 4-year old son...

I have just come out a frustration moment with BizTalk where it was behaving differently when compared to a similar environment. I have a retry pattern in one of my orchestrations and a suspend shape within the catch block. See screenshot below: One would hope that when the administrator resubmits the suspended message, it would [...] Blog Post by: DipeshA

IIS Deployment with Sub Applications : Web.Config parent dependency override
Posted

Syndicated BizTalk Author
Recently when deploying an application out to IIS we had the need to deploy a sub application within the same domain. Essentially, what we were trying to do was make the sub application an extension of the parent application, but live in separate app pools and the code base would be kept separate as well. (ie: [...] Blog Post by: Karl Schwirz

Original Article: http://blog.biztalk360.com , Cross posted. Note: This capability is added to our next release of BizTalk360 v5.0 due in 6 weeks time. One of the design goals for BizTalk360 is to abstract the complexities of some of the hard core concepts in BizTalk Server. We wanted BizTalk environments to be managed, operated and administered by someone who got very basic BizTalk knowledge, not a real BizTalk expert. In our experience only very few companies have dedicated BizTalk administrators...

The presenter, Augusto Valdez , started by stating something to get everyone in a good mode, as we all know that WP is a very good product but it still lacks in sales. They did their own research by going to the amazon us website and look for what phones people like. The top 3 are WP and out of the top 9, 7 are. Windows Phone 8 will release at the same time as Windows 8. The different teams are working together, collaborating and trying to get the same experience on the phone as well as desktop...

Windows Azure with Scott Gu

Syndicated BizTalk Author
I wonder if Scott Gu can sing? If so he has a lovely basso. There was very little news to me in this session as I am a frequent attender of the Swedish Azure User Group , however a little repetition might improve my knowledge. There are a couple of things that still amazes me when it comes to Azure. the first one is the 99.95% monthly SLA. This means that Microsoft guarantees that your servers are up all but about three hours during a 30 day month. The next thing that amazes me is still the cost...

I recently ran into a requirement to both transmit and receive documents using “Plain Old Xml”. The system we were integrating was not able to understand the concept of namespaces in an Xml document, but BizTalk requires them, as messages are determined by the combination of a document’s Namespace and Root Node. The solution was [...] Blog Post by: Brett

I have already relayed this information to so many, and given the links to more, that I though I’d put them up here for easy access. There is much and more to be written about the content, but I’ll settle for this. In its simplest single machine using default configuration BizTalk Server 2010 comes with a sample of how to use sysprep , that resides in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010\SDK\Samples\Admin\Sysprep folder. It uses an unattended installation answer file that among other things tells windows to run a number of scripts that updates the database, SSO, BAM etc, where references to the machine name exists. Full description of that “sample” is described here . Windows Azure on the...
