Use SSIS to push data to SQL Azure | Utiliser SSIS pour pousser des données vers SQL Azure
Posted
by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
The goal of this blog post is to show that it is as easy with SQL Azure as with SQL Server to push data with SSIS. Le but de ce billet est de montrer qu’il est aussi simple de pousser des données avec SSIS vers SQL Azure que vers SQL Server. In this sample, let’s use SQL Server 2008 R2, which is the latest SQL Server version in production (1). Dans cet exemple, utilisons SQL Server 2008 R2, qui est la dernière version sortie de SQL Server (1). The scenario is to push some data from SQL Server 2008...

A new blog for BizTalk Administrators
Posted
by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
There is a new BizTalk blog. Another one, yes targeted for BizTalk administrators. Why? There are many blogs out there. Yet most of them are focused on the developer. There is not much on BizTalk administrative topics nor one blog where BizTalk administrators share their knowledge, and experience between each other and with the community. Jeroen Hendriks from Axon Olympus started an initiative to create a blog for BizTalk professionals with a heart for managing BizTalk. He talked this through with...

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a blog post for the Official blog of TechNet Wiki with the topic “Wiki-Ninjas on Technology: BizTalk Server” . Mid December there were little of 40 BizTalk Wiki Articles and over a month’s time it has grown to little over 70 . That is a tremendous growth of articles (around 30 ). Can you move a Virtual Machine from VirtualPC to Hyper-V?
Posted

by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
I was recently asked if I could help move a virtual machine that had been setup and running in VirtualPC and move it to run under Hyper-V. The answer is yes it can be done. Movement from Hyper-V to VirtualPC is not as easy (and many times not possible) but there are a number of blog posts on this topic already so I won’t cover that here. One of the reasons that it is easier to move from VirtualPC to Hyper-V is that VirtualPC is only 32 bit. There are a number of steps that...

Here is one of the use cases of Hadoop on Azure: you have a few applications accumulating data over time and you need to execute batches against this data a few times a month. You need many machines in an Hadoop cluster, but most of the time, you don’t need the cluster, just the data. Voici un des cas d’utilisation d’Hadoop sur Azure: Quelques applications accumulent des données au fur et à mesure et on doit exécuter des batches sur ces données quelques fois dans le mois. On a besoin de machines...

BizTalk Server and named SQL Server Analysis Services instances

The documentation for BizTalk Server 200X is very clear, and has been since BizTalk Server 2006. See the 2010 versions of technet wiki and download . It states: “ Named instances of SQL Server 200X Analysis Services are not supported ” But why is that? I set out to investigate if I could find a reason for it still being true. Examining the history In the beginning, there was a limitation with SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services (SSAS). It was not instance or cluster aware (much like SSIS today). Some...
