Is BizTalk the right solution?

Not Answered This question is not answered

I just discovered BizTalk very recently.  I am looking at doing a re-architecture of our current system.  We have an Oracle database (that is currently being upgraded to 11g) that has a .Net web interface and PeopleSoft interface running off the database.  On both the .Net and PeopleSoft sides, we have business rules running.  Most of these business rules are the same, and we are looking for a rules engine that can house all of these rules that both PeopleSoft and .Net can reference.  This will significantly cut down the time it takes to make changes or additions to these rules in the future.

Is BizTalk the right technology to implement this rules engine or if another technology would work better?

Thanks for your advice and input!

  • Seems BizTalk is the right tool for you. I integrated PeopleSoft in 2004 using BizTalk. BizTalk RuleEngine is a good stuff if used correctly and it also has limitations on what you can do and what you cannot. Its basically IF condition Rules....not else exist....for that you need to implement a new rule with not predicate.
