Input string was not in a correct format

Help,

I have a strange error occuring in a Orchestration.

It seems there is a limit to the amount of objects\code\shapes I can add to the orchestration before it suddenly throws the error below. The orchestration isn't very big and even stranger is the error occurs on a send port with is before the object\shape\code I add which seems to take me over a certain unforseen threshold.

I have removed all xPath as I've found suggestion this could be the issue, had my partner in crime take a good look, whom in 8 years of using Biztalk has never seen the error or experienced this problem.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatfully appreciated.

I have task to create 700 receive locations which picks the messages from sharepoint site, so my question is what is the limit of receive locations in a biztalk server, and how to create those RcvLoc by any script?

400 Bad Request error

Hai. I am using Biztalk 2010 for Integration between SAP R3 Servers with RNIF standards.

One side windows’ using RNIF Adaptor and Another side is Web Method.

The below is my scenario

RNIF Adaptor(http send) --> RNIF Adaptor(https Receive) (Success)

RNIF Adaptor(http Send) --> Web Method(https Receive) (Failure)

One of my client system having Public IP address only but certificate is applied for Domain.

I am getting 400 Bad Request Error. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?

Hi All,

I am able to send a file to the UNIX (samba file share) using BizTalk FILE adapter but getting the below error when trying to read a file using FILE adapter. The host user account has the full permissions on the UNIX file share, surprisingly error shows the windows account.

Error(error code)16397
Windows(R) Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) failed a request to connect to Active Directory Domain Services(R) for Windows user <Domain\WindowsLogin>.
Without the corresponding UNIX identity of the Windows user, the user cannot access Network File System (NFS) shared resources.
Verify that the Windows user is in Active Directory Domain Services and has access permissions.
Please advise.

BizTalk Application Bloat

I have a situation at a company I am working for where the need may arise to create many very small, specific feeds within BizTalk. Essentially, there are a lot of outbound file feeds in which we need to get some data from SQL, run some business logic against it depending on trading partner, transform it and send over a wide array of possible transport types (FILE, SFTP, SOAP, MSMQ etc). We will have one feed to get substantiated transactions from our system, another to get failed authorizations, another to get card swipe information and the list goes on.

The problem is if I let each of these feed types live in their own application I could easily see 50 or more BizTalk applications springing up in the next year or so. My question is, does this pose a problem? Leaving them as their own application simplifies things from both a deployment and administrative aspect since I can easily turn the feeds on and off without affecting any other processes that will be running under the same host instances and can leverage BTDF basically "out of the box". I've never been in a situation where more than about 10 applications existed in BizTalk and I just want to be sure that I am not setting myself up for issues down the road

Track messages by schema name

Hi Gurus!

Please help! I'm working with Biztalk 2010 and I would like to track messages based on their schema and some promoted fields. So I launched BT Admin Console, created a new query like this: "Search For" "Equals" "Tracked Message Events". But when tried to set the Schema Name, I realized that the dropdown list doesn't contain all schemas, only a few of them. It shows 15 schemas although there are more than 500 schemas currently deployed. How can I get all of the deployed schemas appear in the dropdown list?

XML elements of type date generate errors when data is blank or 00/00/0000

Hi,

Here's an error I am getting when validating a flatfile against its schema,

"The DateTime represented by the string is not supported in calendar System.Globalization.GregorianCalendar"

This error is showing up for elements with datatype: "xs:date" and custom format: "MM/dd/yyyy"

The error occurs when data value is blank or in one case when the data was 00/00/0000.

For blank data, I set the Nillable property to "True" but still gave the same error.

Also, tried giving a default value in the date format but the it was still giving out the same error.

Note: the flatfile source is a mainframe system where its not possible to fix the data and has to be done at my end. Also, I am trying to avoid to use a map with a scripting functoid for each date type element, since the current doesn't need one, if not for this issue.

Please do let me know how do I fix this? All help is greatly appreciated.

Orchestration instance goes in Dehydrated state

Hi All,

I have orchestration, where I am using parallel shape with 4 branches and Receive shape to receive all the message. The receive shape have Correlation set initialize to 'BTS.MessageType'.

In each of the branch of parallel shape I am using scope shape where I have put all my business logic.

My business logic involves, sending request to oracle and SQL DB and receiving response from the same.

When I execute the orch, everything runs fine except Orchestration is not going in completed state.

Can anyone explain me what is the issue ? and if I have to set any property for it.

It's very urgent for me. Right now I am Restarting application instance after each run to overcome such issue.

Please help me to resolve such issue.

MetadataException: The assembly required for type mapping not found

I have generated schemas using ConsumeAdapterService from oracle database. I just want to insert data into tables that contain user defined types. Hence, the usertype assembly also got generated.I also have specified the below properties.

enableBizTalkCompatibilityMode = True

useSchemaInNameSpace = False

useAmbientTransaction = True

userAssembliesLoadPath=<DLL path>

I have deployed the solution in my development environment and the solution works great and I can insert data into oracle tables.

Now I deploy this solution to another test environment. I have GACed the assemblies and copied to the Biztalk installation folder as well. I have also specified the path in the userAssembliesLoad property and have done all the setup just i did in my local environment.

I receive the below error

Error Description: Microsoft.ServiceModel.Channels.Common.MetadataException: The assembly required for type mapping not found.

The change is the biztalk environment and the Oracle database server. However, i specified all other properties accurately.

I wonder why it works in my local and does not work in test environment.

Please advise if you have any solution

Biztalk 2010 TPM : Unable to delete Batch from the parties via Admin console

I'm unable to delete the batch from parties in Biztalk server 2010 via Admin console. Even i cleared/deleted all the running batching orchestration instance and restarted the Host instances. I get below errors if delete the batch configuration:
Even i queried in BiztalkMgmtdb, I could see the batch details records in batchdescription table.

Error in Custom Unzipping pipeline component that inherits Flat file disassembler (FFDasm)

Hi,

I have a custom disassembler that unzips files. and files for which an xml schema is defined, I call the base.Disassemble and base.GetNext methods to convert them from flat file to xml.

It works fine in some situations, however for some test sample files where Base.GetNext method should be called only once (and then null should be returned from FFDasm) it is getting called multiple times until it throws an exception with this message

The current definition being parsed is Record. The stream offset where the error occured is 1063. The line number where the error occured is 1. The column where the error occured is 1063.

I tried to check if the flat file in the sample zip files that does not match the schema configured, However when I validate the flat file instance against the schema, the validation is successful.

So what I did was I wanted to find out why so many times the Base.GetNext method is getting called and hence I read the message returned by the Base.GetNext method wrote it to the event log . When I do that the component works propertly !!!! Base.GetNext gets called only once and then the message returned is read and written to the event log. The moment I remove the piece of code( that reads the returned message and writes it to the event log) I get back the exception. And this happens for only certain sample zip files not all.

Here is the method that unzips the file

WCF-SQL missing

I have Windows 7 64 bit professional with .Net 4.0 and got SQL 2008 SP3, BizTalk Server 2010 Developer.

Why is WCF-SQL is missing and how to add it? As per few urls I had installed WCF SQL Adapter and made some change in machine.config but that crashes Visual Studio.

Any help would be appreciated.

DBLookup functioids not working

I have used an inbound and outbound schema and the basic mapping is working fine.

When I add a dblookup along with value extractor functoid it is not working.

Both database and biztalk runs on the same computer. The connection string is a valid string and I used SQLOLEDB provider with Persist Security Info=false and provided all other credentials.

I had validated inbound, outbound and maps no errors were thrown.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Mapping .msg to XML to SQL

I have configured POP3 in receive port and able to receive all emails and stored as .txt file.

How do I map this file to a schema and store the content to an SQL table?

Each line in the email body represents a field's data in the table.

Error while configuring WSS 3.0 in Biztalk Server

Trying to install & configure WSS 3.0 services in biztalk server where SQL SErver is in remote machine. Installed these SQL server components(Client Connectivity and Management tools) in Biztalk server. The account that I am using has Admin rights in both machines. New databases are being created in sql server while configuring , but fails at the end.

cannot find the ETW classes TraceProvider, ComponentTraceProvider classes in Microsoft.BizTalk.Tracing.dll

Hi,

I am trying to implement ETW tracing in my BizTalk solutions and I am pretty new to ETW. I read the post ( http://blogs.msdn.com/b/appfabriccat/archive/2010/05/11/best-practices-for-instrumenting-high-performance-biztalk-solutions.aspx ) and I found the Microsoft.BizTalk.Tracing.dll in GAC and added its reference.

However in the namespace Microsoft.BizTalk.Diagnostics, I am not able to find the classes TraceProvider and ComponentTraceProvider. Am I missing anything here ? Is there anything else I need to do here ?

Are there any other assemblies I need to install ? Should I install windows SDK (I am not sure as I already have the Microsoft.BizTalk.Tracing.dll )?

Can we install SQL server standard edition with BizTalk Enterprise Edition?Is there any known limitations with this approach?

We planned to install SQL as Active/passive cluster and I understand SQL server standard editios support this.

A message with new fields will be accepted even though BizTalk does NOT now taht new fields in the appropriate schema

We have solution in place which synchronizes contacts between ERP- and CRM system. (NAVISION and MS CRM 2011). The contact message will be send from MS Dynamics NAVISION to the BizTalk via MSMQ.
BiztTalk is reading that message via MSMQ ReceiveLocation (XMLReceive Pipeline).

Now, the schema in NAVISION has been updated (add a new record. That record contains 3 fields). In BizTalk we have NOT update the schema yet.
So a few minutes ago the NAVISION developer of that schema "made a mistake" and did send already a message to the MSMQ. So we expected that this message will fail in the receive pipeline as no schema on BizTalk has been deployed to match that message.

BUT BizTalk has processed it.

Problem flat file tag identifier found at wrong position

Hi,

I have a problem with the flat file tag identifier in a positional record, the tag is
700 at the offset of 24. But biztalk founds a different tag(200) at position 11
in a field that isn’t a tag field. It happens only when 2 fields are filled at
the end of the record(700) before, field ZZZZZZZZ and 8888888.

thru 700 are positional records in a delimited record. Records 300 & 400 occurs
min/max 1, Record 600 occurs min 1 max *, Record 700 occurs min zero max *.

Does anyone have a solution?

I'm working on Biztalk migration from 2006 r2 to Biztalk 2010. my clients wants to integrate ESB 2.1 to handle the exception and resubmit the fault message after correction via ESB portal.
I've configured the ESB tool 2.1 successfully and started with simple example without any problem.
Now, I've a problem with resubmitting the message with below errors.

Schema can't be load

I have an application which contains two receive locations (HTTP and FILE). Both are using the same "XMLReceive" Pipeline. A receiveport in an orchestration with a direct binding is "listening" to xml files which are belong to a schema.

But then I send an XML-File over the HTTP adapter I am getting the error:

The document specification <CL.External.Controlware.SCHEMAS.PurchaseOrder> from assembly <CL.External.Controlware.SCHEMAS, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=413e9d4e7ea53c6e> failed to load. Verify the schema for this document specification is deployed and is in the Global Assembly Cache.

But the schema has been deployed properly into the GAC (gacutil /l CL.External.Controlware.SCHEMAS) as you can see in the screenshot below: (HostINstances have been restarted as well)

BUT when I place the same xml file into the file receive location it will be processed without any problem.

Where is the error?

HTTP Send port to WCF RESTful service Timeout

I have a BizTalk send port that sends small xml messages via HTTP to a RESTful WCF service. Things are getting clogged up at the service due to some crappy code causing DB deadlocks. Just over 3000 messages were sent at a 100 message per minute. BizTalk appears to be able to attempt to send them all. IIS on the receiving end appears to get saturated and can no longer process. The messages just sit on the BizTalk server with a Message Status of In Process and a Serice Status of Active. I did see a small handful that got suspended due to time out (see err msg below). Eventually, we reset IIS on the subscribing web server and messages began to get processed on the BizTalk server again.

My questions is, how does BizTalk know that the receiving server is saturated or does it? If it is smart enough to detect the subscribing service as busy then why the few suspended messages?

Error Message:

The adapter failed to transmit message going to send port "EnterpriseMsgToProducerMgmtSubscriberSvcSendPort" with
URL "http://blah.blahcorp.com/serviceproducermanagement/serviceproducermanagement.svc/xml/event".
It will be retransmitted after the retry interval specified for this Send Port. Details:"The HTTP send adapter
cannot complete the transmission within the specified time.

Missing Links in Biztalk Map

When I am changing Destination Schema ( Procedure Changes coulmn add or removal) in Biztalk Map the links are getting lost. Can anybody Please let me know how to fix this issue
