When my network engineers apply patches that require a re-boot, my BizTalk services (BTSNTSvc.exe) as well as the Rule Engine service fail to restart - even though I have startup-type set to Automatic. The BTSNTSvc fails 100% of the time whereas the Rule Engine usually starts fine.
I tried setting both BTSNTSvc hosts startup type to Automatic-delayed thinking that maybe it is having issues with Enterprise Single Sign On not being up and fully running yet. It does not seem to make a difference.
I am about to upgrade my production BT servers from 2006 to 2010 but I'm a little apprehensive due to this behavior.
Has anyone encountered this and have you been able to remedy?
Hi
I have indeed encountered this before.
The solution is to change the startup type of the BizTalk services from "Automatic" to "Automatic (Delayed Start)".
Kind regards,
Maarten Demont
You mention setting both hosts to Automatic-delayed. Have you set the Enterprise SSO service to this as well ? stated here: support.microsoft.com/.../942284
