Good question. Just like a receive port can have multiple maps, so can send ports. Why? If you process multiple *types* of messages, the applicable map gets applied. If you only send a single message type to an orchestration, only the map with the source message type matching your message gets applied. If you had a send port that subscribed on a promoted value (let's say, "vendor ID") and accepted 3 different vendor invoice formats, you could apply unique maps to each one through a single send port.
