ESB Toolkit 2.1 Installation Checklists
Posted
by
Syndicated BizTalk Author
Overview One of the biggest barriers to ESB Toolkit adoption I have come across is the installation and configuration overhead. This is a genuine concern, especially when you need to deviate from the standard configuration. If project timelines are tight, this can result in the ESB Toolkit being overlooked. Through working on a number of [...] Blog Post by: Colin Meade

Creating and using content types in SharePoint is often considered as the best practice; however SharePoint workflows created for SharePoint 2013 cannot be associated anymore with content types. This is a very important point to consider if you are moving to the new platform In MSDN you can read “Unlike previous versions, SharePoint 2013 does [...] Blog Post by: sergeluca

Getting started with #AngularJS

One of the nicer JavaScripts out there to work with must me AngularJS . Now there are quite a few other ones out there and I have used a number of them but AngularJS seems to be the most structured of them. And while it is really powerful it is also really easy to get started with. AngularJS is a client side framework for creating rich web applications using JavaScript and HTML. It isn’t just a library like jQuery or Knockout.js where you create the structure and call into the library as you see...

How to install Hadoop on Windows Azure Linux virtual machines
Posted

Windows Azure HDInsight is the simplest option to get a Hadoop cluster up and running very quickly in a Windows Azure environment. Among other numerous advantages, this service allows to use Windows Azure blob storage (ASV or Azure Storage Vault for short) exactly as HDFS (Hadoop distributed file system). In its public beta version, Windows Azure HDInsight uses ASV as its default file system. I put some screen shots of what you can easily do (in a matter of minutes) with such a cluster in this post...

FIX: Missing itinerary designer after installing BizTalk 2013
Posted
by
Syndicated AppFabric Author
This happened to me. I’m not sure if it will prove to be a common problem, or just something specific to me, but I put this post together to save time for others that may run into it. Scenario: I did a clean install of BizTalk Sever 2013. When I went into Visual Studio 2012, I did not have the option to add ESB Toolkit itinerary designers to a BizTalk project. Explanation: During the BizTalk 2013 beta the itinerary designer was distributed as a VSIX package. However, in the RTM version it is no longer...

Skipping ahead a bit After some feedback about the last article (thanks everyone) you all seem to know how to follow instructions from Microsoft. You all told me to skip to the part about the instructions being wrong. So I will. Make sure to read the entire article. 32 vs 64 bit Ever heard of that issue? Ever run into trouble because of that? Of course you have! Now you might be able to avoid it. When you reach step 11 in the article “ How to restore your databases ” you run into your first mistake...

For the past month and half, in my spare time, I have been working on a whitepaper that compares and contrasts System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and BizTalk360. I have used both products extensively in my professional life and in order to remain objective within the paper I have driven my evaluation off of requirements. These requirements are based upon my experience of managing the 24x7 operations of a BizTalk environment at a large Power Distribution company in Canada. The paper...

The Entity Framework Leaking

'Fluent Interfaces' have been a bit of a buzz for probably long enough that I am not justified in buzzing about them. I was pretty excited when first seeing them applied to databases in form of NHibernate and also kind of excited to see all that code-first-ness come to Entity Framework, which had never really convinced me with the whole 'visual design experience' thing it had when I first looked at it way back in EF 2 or whatever. Those were the days. Annnnyway... It went a long time...
